Type 321 stainless acid gas heater bundles
The Project
Ideal Welders designed new weld procedures to correct a recurring corrosion issue in these tube bundles. We supplied material and fabricated acid gas heater bundles in Type 321 stainless steel for the Fort Nelson Gas Plant. Ideal was also responsible for all post-weld heat treatment.
Due to the complexity of the design, fabrication by traditional means was difficult and inefficient. Ideal Welders designed, developed and manufactured automated tube-to-tube sheet welding equipment specifically for this project.
As a result of our efficient fabrication process, we has now completed 28 bundles in 4 orders over a period of 15 years.
