Building Reliable Infrastructure

Ideal Welders plays a vital role in the oil and gas industry, ensuring the construction of pipelines, refineries, and processing plants meet the highest standards. Since 1969, we have supported every phase of the sector—integrating Ideal Welders’ excellence in all construction and maintenance of pipeline systems.

LNG Canada

Ideal Welders contributed to a major oil and gas project in Kitimat through the fabrication of large-diameter pipe spools, with a total value of approximately $55 million. With spools up to 88 inches in diameter and 120 feet long, components were shipped by barge directly from our facility. The project required extensive non-destructive examinations (NDEs) to meet industry standards, showcasing our ability to deliver large-scale, high-spec work in remote locations.

Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion (TMEP)

Ideal Welders is proud to have contributed to the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion, providing pipe spool fabrication and delivering over 40 modules for the Westridge Terminal. These modules were transported via barge from our facility to the project site in Burnaby, ensuring efficient and timely integration.

Shell Canada, Fort Saskatchewan

Piping for the Fort Saskatchewan Upgrader project was fabricated at Ideal and transported to Alberta for installation. A total of 280,000 diameter inches of fabrication were delivered over a 12-month window.

Kearl Oilsands

Ideal Welders provided materials, fabrication, assembly and testing of process skids making up the valve train assemblies for the boiler system at the Kearl Oilsands Project – Phase I. The project was completed through Hamworthy Peabody Combustion Inc. for B&W who were providing the boilers. A second set of skids was subsequently constructed for Kearl Phase II.

Supplying spools across Canada

Starting in 2016, Ideal Welders played a key role in the expansion of a major oil and gas transmission system in British Columbia. We fabricated and shipped large-diameter pipe spools, including 2,400 stainless steel spools shipped to site along with compressor station upgrades. Our contributions ensured system reliability, supporting safe operations and meeting growing demand through timely, high-quality project delivery.
